OCP Hardware at SCaLE14x
Finally getting around to posting this. My how time flies when you’re having fun or getting ready for the OCP US Summit 2016 event. 🙂
On 21-24 January 2016, I had the opportunity to help staff the Facebook Open Source Booth at the SCaLE14x event and talk to attendees about the Open Compute Project (OCP) Foundation— Who is OCP? What does OCP do? How do you join OCP? How to contribute to OCP? What is the story with all this OCP hardware? It was a blast. The engineers in the booth are some of my favorite Facebook people and anytime I get the opportunity to collaborate or just hang out with them I am honored to do so. I hope they learn as much from me as I do from them.
The OCP hardware in the booth was a very good sampling of the what Facebook has contributed to OCP since 2011 and consisted of the following:
- OCP Open Rack Project
- OCP Networking Project
- OCP Server Project
- OCP Storage Project
Facebook is just one of the many contributors to OCP. If you want to find out more about OCP hardware, its contributors as well as how to get involved in the OCP community come to the OCP US Summit 2016 in San Jose, California on 9-10 March. OCP Hardware Hackathon: Are you a hardware hacker? If so consider joining a team and hacking on some OCP Hardware at the Hackathon. (It’s free to participate in the Hackathon and teams will be decided on 8 March. Register and find out more about the Hackathon here.)
I’ll be at the Summit in San Jose! I hope to see you there! Find me and find out how you can get involved with OCP today!
